Round 6 Match Update

Round 6 of the National League delivered another exciting weekend of netball, with teams continuing to battle for position as the competition edges closer to its final stages. MATCH 1 

DHNC vs RNC 

📍 The Hague 

The Hague Netball Club hosted Rotterdam Netball Club in a match that saw momentum shift throughout the four quarters. DHNC started well, taking an early lead in the first quarter, but Rotterdam responded strongly in the second to level the scores going into halftime.  The third quarter saw Rotterdam edge ahead, putting pressure on the home side. However, DHNC showed resilience in the final quarter, regaining control and finishing strongly to secure a well-earned victory.

Friendly Match 

DHNC also faced RNC Otters in a friendly fixture, where they continued their good form with a convincing win.

MATCH 2 

ANC2 vs MNC 

📍 Amsterdam 

Amsterdam Netball Club 2 welcomed Maastricht Netball Club in what proved to be one of the closest matches of the round. ANC2 started confidently, but Maastricht fought back in the second quarter to take a narrow lead. The match remained tight through the third quarter, with both teams trading goals and applying pressure across the court. In the final quarter, ANC2 managed to hold their composure and edge ahead, finishing just two goals in front in a thrilling encounter.

A fantastic, evenly matched game that kept everyone on edge until the final whistle. 

Friendly Match 

Amsterdam Netball Club 1 and 2 combined players for a mixed friendly match, creating a fun and competitive environment. The match highlighted great camaraderie, teamwork and the spirit of the league, with players enjoying the opportunity to compete alongside and against each other in a different format. 

 

 

MATCH 3 

UNC vs AFNC 

📍 Utrecht 

Utrecht Netball Club took on Amersfoort Netball Club on home court, delivering a strong and controlled performance. UNC set the tone early with a dominant first quarter and maintained its lead through consistent attacking play and solid defensive work. Amersfoort showed determination and fought hard throughout the match, but Utrecht’s accuracy and teamwork allowed them to extend their lead and comfortably close out the game.

UNC and AFNC faced off again in a friendly match, where Amersfoort turned the tables in a very close contest.

STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 6 

With Round 6 completed, Utrecht Netball Club strengthens their position at the top of the table, maintaining an unbeaten record and extending its lead with another convincing win.

 

The Hague Netball Club holds firmly onto second place following their strong performance against Rotterdam, while Amsterdam Netball Club 1 remains in third, with games in hand that could still impact the standings. 

Further down the table, the competition remains tight, with several teams closely matched on points and goal difference. With catch-up matches still to be played, the final rounds promise to be decisive as teams continue to push for higher positions on the log.
