Netbal Nederland is looking for one or two enthusiastic volunteer(s) to join our Audit
Committee (Kascommissie). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the governance
and transparency of our growing national sports federation.

Role Overview

The Audit Committee is an independent committee appointed by the General Members'
Meeting (AGM). Its primary responsibility is to review the financial administration and
annual accounts of Netball Netherlands and report its findings to the members before the
annual financial statements are approved. Audit committees are a common governance
mechanism in Dutch associations and provide independent oversight of the treasurer's
financial management.

Working closely with the Treasurer, the committee helps ensure that the federation's finances
are managed accurately, transparently, and in accordance with our statutes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review the annual financial statements and supporting documentation.

• Verify that income and expenditure have been recorded correctly.

• Check that financial transactions are supported by appropriate documentation.

• Assess whether the financial administration provides a true and fair overview of the
  federation's finances

• Prepare a short report with findings and recommendations for the Annual General
  Meeting.

• Advise the members on whether to approve the annual accounts and discharge the
  Board for its financial management.

 

What We’re Looking For

​You do not need to be an accountant. We are looking for people who:

• Have an interest in finance, governance or administration.

• Are accurate, objective and trustworthy.

• Can analyse information and ask critical questions.

• Have approximately 10-15 hours available each year, mainly around the annual
  financial review, which is around September.

• Are independent and are not currently serving on the Board of Netbal Nederland.

Time commitment 

• Approximately 10-15 hours per year.

• One review meeting with the Treasurer prior to the Annual General Meeting.

• Attendance at the AGM (in October) is encouraged.
